Which fringe for curly hair?

WHICH FRINGE FOR CURLY HAIR?

OUR ADVICES

There are preconceived ideas that die hard, and that according to which bangs and curly hair are incompatible is one of them! And yet, nothing like a fringe to magnify curls. You just need to follow a few basic principles.

Curly hair would be wrong to deprive themselves of a fringe! It is a good way to structure the haircut and soften the face. Provided, however, that certain fundamentals are respected.

Bangs and curly hair, general principles

Before moving on to the fringe, we opt for a gradient to better distribute the volume of the curls.

Then place the cut itself, and we go slowly, very slowly. Indeed, the shorter the fringe, the more difficult it is to maintain. And this is all the more true on days when the weather is capricious. The rain brings up the curls and frizz of the bangs, and the bangs don't look like much anymore. In hairdressing, we call it the “pompom” effect, that says it all!

Regarding the shape, it is better to start with rounded bangs to match the rest of the hair. If you want naturalness, then just taper at the ends, and if you want volume, then you keep all the thickness.

A fringe for every type of curly hair

If you have very soft curls or simply waves, you start with a long and tapered fringe, slightly on the side, or a wick fringe. The key is dynamic and natural curls, which remain wild while structuring the hairstyle. In short, the best of both worlds!

If, on the contrary, we have very pronounced curls, then we choose a more “fuzzy” fringe to give ourselves a little sexy and wild side.

Missteps to avoid

Let's be clear, some curly hair doesn't make the most of bangs. Styling a fringe on frizzy hair, for example, is a headache to tear your hair out (which is basically not the goal).

One question remains: what about smooth bangs on curly hair? The answer is no ! Smooth hairstyle or curly hairstyle, you have to choose!

On the maintenance side, don't forget to visit your hairdresser regularly (generally every two months) to cut the fringe and ensure that it remains a real asset for the hair.
